ImprovNewMexico’s Improv4NewMexico™
This Halloween, the incredible Q-Staff Theater in Albuquerque transformed into a realm of mystery and enchantment with “Eternal Night: A Vampire Hypnosis Show with Lester Fu.” Both shows sold out making this community event nothing short of mesmerizing and leaving audiences spellbound and eager for more. What made the evening even more special was that all proceeds went directly to supporting our statewide programming Improv4NewMexico™ (Improv4NM™)—a program dedicated to transforming lives and communities across the New Mexico through the power of improv.
Meet the Master Hypnotist: Lester Fu
At the center of this unforgettable experience was Lester Fu, a professional hypnotist renowned for his ability to unlock creativity and confidence. Lester’s journey into hypnosis began at the age of 17 when he started exploring psychology and self-healing. Over the years, his passion for transformation has taken him through prestigious institutions like the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, UC Berkeley, and St. John’s College.
Lester’s approach to hypnosis is deeply rooted in helping people overcome fear, insecurity, and self-doubt to embrace self-love and creative expression. His performances, including “Eternal Night,” are more than entertainment—they are transformative experiences that blend storytelling, psychology, and art.
A Connection Built on Creativity
Lester’s relationship with Improv4NewMexico™ (Improv4NM™) and its creator, Rachel Michaela Chavez Jaramillo, goes back to his time at St. John’s College. Rachel was the lead instructor at Stage Santa Fe (Improv New Mexico™‘s original original name), which provided free improv classes and performances for St. John’s students.
Rachel’s work as an instructor made a lasting impact on Lester, sparking his interest in the world of improv and personal growth. Their connection didn’t end there—Rachel continued to teach Lester in multiple improv classes, helping him hone his skills and explore his creative potential.
“Eternal Night: A Vampire Hypnosis Show” was more than just a performance—it was an experience. Guests arrived dressed in their finest vampiric attire, ready to be transported into a world of hypnotic intrigue. The theater was transformed into a gothic masterpiece, setting the perfect stage for Lester’s captivating performance.
As the lights dimmed and Lester began to weave his hypnotic spell, the audience was drawn into a mesmerizing journey inspired by vampiric lore. The show was immersive, thrilling, and, most importantly, deeply engaging. Audience members didn’t just watch; they participated, becoming part of the narrative and experiencing firsthand the transformative power of hypnosis.
By the end of the evening, the energy in the room was electric. Laughter, introspection, and awe filled the space as attendees shared their experiences and reflected on the incredible show they had just witnessed.
A Celebration of Community and Creativity
The success of “Eternal Night” wasn’t just in the sold-out shows or the standing ovations—it was in the purpose behind it. Every ticket sold supported Improv4NewMexico™ (Improv4NM™), a program created to bring improvisational theater and personal development opportunities to communities across New Mexico.
Rachel shared her thoughts on the event, saying, “Seeing the Q-Staff Theater filled with people connecting, laughing, and being inspired—it was everything Improv4NewMexico™ stands for. And having Lester at the center of it all made it even more meaningful.”
Looking Ahead
If you missed “Eternal Night,” don’t worry—this is just the beginning. Improv4NewMexico™ (Improv4NM™) continues to create transformative opportunities for New Mexicans to explore their creativity, build confidence, and connect with others.
